CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)

Purchase of CDW can be waived/declined only if the renter has a major credit card with insurance program. (Certain credit cards issued commonly in USA or Canada have a car rental insurance program. Verify this with your credit card insurance provider department).

In the event of damages to the rented vehicle, the renter will be responsible for a non-waivable deductible of $975 and $2,000 if the car is stolen.

All rentals require credit card guarantee of $1500 - $2001 which includes the $975 plus estimated rental charges.

Customer will be responsible for the full cost of damage or theft if the car is driven in violation of the rental agreement, that is if the car is abused, reckless driven or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The insurance does not cover the car items or personal possessions.

TLP (Third Party Liability)

"Third party liability (TPL) coverage is optional provided that at the time of rental the customer can present written proof of liability coverage in Costa Rica, otherwise third party liability is mandatory, cost USD $10.00 - $15.00 per day".
